Note: The converter makes reasonable assumptions based on your inputs. Always review the generated stat block and conversion notes — you may want to adjust ability scores, creature type, or alignment based on the monster’s specific nature.
How to Use
- Enter 1e Stats — Fill in your monster’s original D&D 1e statistics in the left panel
- Convert — Click “Convert to 5e” to generate the 5e stat block
- Review — Check the conversion notes and adjust anything that doesn’t match your vision
- Download (Patreon only) — Export the stat block as Foundry VTT JSON for immediate import
Tips
- The Number of Attacks field accepts both simple numbers (“2”) and detailed notation (“1 bite / 2 claws”)
- Additional Details helps the converter refine ability scores (e.g., “fast”, “intelligent”, “undead”)
- Saving Throws should reference a character class and level (e.g., “Wizard, 7th level”) for best results
- The generated stat block uses conservative estimates for INT, WIS, and CHA — adjust these based on the monster’s lore
Foundry VTT Import
Patreon supporters can download a complete Foundry VTT actor JSON. To import:
- Download the JSON from this tool
- In Foundry VTT, go to Actors tab
- Click Create Actor and select NPC
- Click the Import button and select the downloaded JSON
- The monster is ready to use in your game!
